Career progression more important than salary

Workers and businesses in the Midlands value the importance of career progression now more than ever before, according to a new survey.   Companies view offering strong career progression as one of the most attractive qualities of employers, a view which is agreed by workers across the region. Sixty five per cent of employers in the Midlands questioned feel that career progression makes them attractive, compared to 40 per cent in 2011, while 59 per cent of employees stated that it was most important to them when considering a new role.  The Blue Book employment survey is undertaken annually by international recruitment group Angela Mortimer.
