Hitachi has taken the first step on a long road to renewing UK power supply.
The Tokyo- based group has already built four reactors in Japan and now wants
to build six here in the UK. It promises to create 12,000 jobs in construction
and many more in the supply chain, with a further 2,000 permanent roles once
the generators at Wylfa, Anglesey and Oldbury, Gloucestershire are up and
running.
